Have fun, be safe, post lots of pictures and write lots of stories. I am living vicariously through you :) I only wish I could have traveled as much as you.
Go where the people are. Meet the people. At least for me, the most memorable things about my trips are generally not the tourist traps. They are the quiet walks through town. They are the unexpected acquaintances you meet. They are not the four star hotels and American resorts but the hovels the locals call home. I cherish most the Olas, Shahiras, and Fadimas.
I so agree. You are wise. Those moments are the ones you remember and that end up meaning the most because they change you and you forever see differently.
I think I'm a little late to comment here, but if you plan to go to Jordan, do it! I loved it there. Go to Petra and watch Indiana Jones afterwards...and Amman if you have time!
